The NSW Public Libraries Marketing Working Group is a joint working group of PLC (Public Libraries NSW - Country) and PLM (Public Libraries NSW - Metropolitan). Membership is open to all public libraries in NSW.
- Objectives of the group are:
- To improve the profile of public library services.
- To provide information exchange on issues of relevance to the marketing and promotion of public library services.
- To monitor developments in the field of marketing and promotion of public library services.
- To carry out projects of relevance to public library marketing and promotion as required.
- To facilitate or organise continuing education activities relevant to the marketing and promotion of public library services.
- To work with other relevant groups either in NSW or Australia-wide on issues appropriate to the marketing and promotion of library services.
- Activities of the Group:
- A biennial seminar, held at the State Library of NSW. The most recent seminar, on the theme of relationship marketing was held at the State Library of NSW on June 3rd 2008.
- The annual Marketing Awards for Public Libraries are currently under review. The most recent awards were presented at the 2009 NSWPL- M Conference held in Sydney.
- Coordination of the @ your library program across NSW. [the @ your library campaign has now officially finished, although libraries are still able to use the campaign material]
